Recruitment Overview 2026

There are two primary pathways for becoming an Assistant Professor in UP:

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: * Master’s degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC of UP)

  • NET/SLET/SET qualification is mandatory.

  • PhD Holders: Candidates with a PhD awarded in accordance with UGC Regulations (2009/2016) are exempted from the NET requirement.

• Age Limit:

• Pay Band: ₹57,700 – ₹1,82,400

• Allowances: Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Medical Allowances are provided as per UP government rules.

• Gross Salary: Approximately ₹95,000 to ₹1,08,000 per month at the start of the career, depending on the city (X, Y, or Z category).
