The UP Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment process is a multi-stage selection journey designed to test both mental aptitude and physical fitness.

1. Selection Process

The recruitment follows four distinct stages. You must qualify for each to move to the next:

  1. Online Written Exam: Objective-type Computer Based Test (CBT).
  2. Document Verification & Physical Standard Test (PST): Checking height, chest (males), and weight (females).
  3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Endurance run.

4. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

This is a "qualifying only" stage where you must meet the time limits:

  • Male Candidates: 4.8 km in 28 minutes.

  • Law & Constitution (Mool Vidhi): This is unique to the SI exam. It covers the Indian Constitution, Human Rights, Traffic Rules, Crime Control, and basic laws related to women/children and environment.
  • General Hindi: Focuses on grammar, synonyms, antonyms, and comprehension.
  • Numerical Ability: Standard high-school level math (Profit/Loss, Interest, Time & Work, etc.).
  • Mental Aptitude: Focuses on "Police System" awareness, communal harmony, and rule of law.
